Well, as the mother of a Katherine who was at first a Katie and then a Kate because she felt Katie was a bit juvenile, I say Katherine with the nn Kate is the way to go. And while I can't imagine my daughter being called anything else, I think it's time to give this name a rest (unless you don't mind her being one of many). ;-)
