wow I never realised quite how prestigious this name was (although I'll ignore the fate of Franz Ferdinand). What great associations for a child, and I definitely prefer it to the slightly sappy sounding Francis, the z gives it much more of an edge.
It probably wouldn't work here though since there's an indie band called Franz Ferdinand monopolising the name. (they are good though)
