[Opinions] Flavia
What do you think of Flavia? My sister knew a girl with this name back in middle school. I can remember my parents, who had very pedestrian name preferences, snickering about the name, like it was so ridiculous. I, however, like it. What do you think of it?

It makes me think of various different things, but not all at the same time:1. Ice cream
2. Flavor Flav
3. Female reproduction system (?!)
4. MonkeysOverall, it gives me an odd feeling. It's quite popular in Brazil, so when I was living there I was constantly hearing this nasally "Flaaaavia, Flaaaaaaavia" all day long. I don't like it.

Flavia (FLAH-vee-a) doesn't have a sound that I enjoy, however, the alternative (FLAY-vee-a) reminds me of flava'. ;-)

It's an absolutely normal name in Italy. It used to be quite uncommon and a bit pretentious, but for my generation it's become standard, though it's not super-common either. There was a girl in my primary school by this name, I associate it with her mainly.I don't particularly like it, but it's ok.

I think of:A Commedia dell'Arte lover under that name. I like Flavia though, and maybe you can call her Vivia.

FlaviaI think as many fans of Gladiator and Rome and I, Claudius are out there now, it wouldn't be so bad. It's not my favorite Latin girl's name, but I don't think she would be teased now. Not with little girls named Messiah and Precious running around...
