[Opinions] WDYTO Marjorie?
I'm curious to hear some feedback on the name Marjorie. Also, which spelling do you prefer: Margery, Marjory, Marjorie, or something else?

Margery for me. I like her looks, she feels natural. Marjorie's in her 60's to me, I know a boatload of them about that age! and Marjory looks wrong to me. But Margery figures on my favorites list. I really like her.

The first time I met someone my age named Marjorie (I'm 22; we were 18 at the time), I was totally taken aback because it sounded like a name from a different generation. Maybe it's ready for a comeback of sorts? I think it's pretty but I can't really get over how dated it feels.

I think its a great name. I only like it spelled Marjorie.

I like the spelling Marjorie better than Margery (margarine and the nursery rhyme "See Saw Margery Daw" spring to mind) but I don't like the name. It seems olde-tyme rustic, dowdy, and nicknamey.
As an alternative to Margaret I prefer Marguerite (nn Daisy, Maisie, Margo, or Margot).

I really like it. I think it's sweet. I posted about it awhile ago and seems like most people don't like it around here, especially if it's spelled Margery. I'm not sure if I like Marjorie or Margery better.

Try as I might, I can't begin to warm to itI think of margarine immediately and it does seem to still have a frumpy mothballed feel such as Madge and Marge. I do prefer this form to Margery. Ick. Funny, I don't mind Marjolaine so much.

ditto, but I like Madge

I quite like it. Off-beat, quirky, old-fashioned, and way underused. Not something I think I would use, but I enjoy it nonetheless. i think I'm leaning towards Margery, just because the g looks a bit more natural to my eyes, and I prefer the original spelling.

makes me think of the trash heap on Fraggle Rock... Or my friends' mum who is also one of my friends and very cool... Don't know I'd actually use it for a child though.

Marjory. When I think of this name it reminds me a tall awkward gangly girl, It s a nice name I don't particularly like it it reminds me of Margarine. Maybe Marjory Elizabeth or Marjory Victoria.
