Yay! Somebody ran a congrats like this awhile back (maybe it was you?) and I really really liked it.

It is 1900. Robert and Lisbeth are among the wealthy upper class of American society. Robert's father built an empire for himself by opening a variety store, then investing wisely in new inventions--such as electricity, horseless carriages, the telephone, and trains. Lisbeth's family is of the "old blood" (wealthy families who have lived in the same area for decades). She is the only daughter of Stephen and Julia Astor, of Philadelphia. Robert's family also chose to make their home in Philadelphia. Robert and Lisbeth met at a party hosted by Lisbeth's parents. They found that they could talk together easily, and both were excellent dancers. Lisbeth's parents advised her against marrying someone so newly come into fortune, but Lisbeth ignored them. She and Robert were wed in 1899 in a lavish ceremony attended by over 400 people--friends, family, friends-of-friends, and unknown family members all came.
Robert and Lisbeth moved into a small mansion at the edge of Philadelphia's more wealthy neighborhoods. Robert, being a second son, will not inherit all of his father's fortunes (that's for his older, already-married-brother Michael). Instead, Robert works for a prominent lawyer, but is only a junior partner, due to his youth. He hopes someday to gain full partership and open a new practice in New Orleans, Chicago, or perhaps even San Francisco. Robert wants to travel the world. Lisbeth, in the meantime, attends social gatherings and does some charity work with orphans. She too would like to see the world--or, the civilized part of it. She is hoping that Robert will move to a city such as Boston or Charleston to continue his practice.
Two weeks before their first wedding anniversary, Lisbeth gave birth to a son. As per family tradition, she and Robert named the boy Robert Andrew North Junior. Lisbeth enjoys having a miniature Robert running around, and she enjoys caring for the new baby. Robert is very proud that he now has a son to carry on his name, and he hopes to gain a fortune of his own to pass on to the boy.
