I understand your inner conflict with this name.
The first George I knew was in high school. He went by Geordy. I do like that nickname and it worked well for him.
Today I know one George who is 21 and just goes by George. He is really proud of his name though because he's the IV (and he uses the suffix whenever possible).
The other George that comes to mind right away is in his 50's and he hates his name so much that he uses his middle name, Zachery, for everything. I think George Zachery is a pretty good combo though.
So there's some more conflict for you.
