[Opinions] Grace
What do you think of Grace as a first name for a girl? Do you think it's boring because it's such a common middle name? It seems to be pretty common according to the popularity chart but I've only met a few. Have you met many?It also seems to be losing popularity I wonder if that's because it's getting common as a middle name and if it will sound as dull as Lee or Lynn in a few years (I actually like Lynn, just saying that they sound dull to many people). What do you think?Do you like Gracie as a full name? What do you think of Gracie as an occasional nickname for Grace?

If you don't have a lot of contact with babies then it's not surprising for it to be common without you knowing many.My best friend's name is Grace. (And my name is Emma, and we didn't know anyone else with our names growing up -- !) I think it's adorable and I'm glad it's common - it's very pretty and delicate. Gracie is very cute as a nickname but rather foolish as a full name IMO. I like it a lot better as a FN than MN and I don't find super common middle names boring as FNs generally.

I love Grace as a first name, but detest it as a middle name. It's not that it has become filler (because I do love Rose as a mn), I just don't like the sound of it in the mn position. I do love the combos Grace Amelia and Grace Alexandra. I don't like Gracie as a full name, but its a great nick name. And despite its popularity where I live (it was #12 last year), I actually don't know many Grace's either.

I like the concept, but find the word to be rather harsh phonetically. It's not really an apt name for the concept in my opinion. I would not be likely to use it.

I think it is boring and ugly. No offense to any Graces anyone knows.

I have always liked Grace. She is nice, classy and sweet. Unfortunately her popularity has turned me off, but I'd rather see her in the first name spot vs the middle name spot again. She is so overused as a middle name. I don't like Gracie as a full name, its fine as a nn for Grace, its way too cutsey.

I don't like Grace because to me it already sounds as dull as Lee or Lynn.

Grace is elegant (think Grace Kelly)but Gracie is ditsy (think Gracie Allen)and only suitable as a nn for a little girl or term of endearment for a grown-up Grace.
I never cared that much for Grace until I saw Annika Noni Rose's character Grace in "The Ladies' No. 1 Detective Agency"! That made me like the name more!

I adore Grace. Such a classic, sweet, beautiful name. Yes, its popularity is declining as it becomes more popular as a mn, but I don't think it could ever be dull.Gracie is too cute to be a full name, but as an occasional nn for Grace it's adorable.

I think Grace is beautiful as a first name. I really like the meaning of the word too, so I think it's great. The only Grace I've ever known was one my age. I can't imagine Grace becoming a dull first name in the same way Lee or Lynn are because of the meaning of it.I think Gracie is terrible as a full name. It's ridiculously cutesy. As an occasional nickname for a little girl named Grace I think it's fine though.

I don't think Grace is dull. It is a classy name. It would be very nice for a first name.

I've heard it used as a first name fairly often in birth announcements, naming boards, etc., but not as much recently. It has been steadily dropping on the popularity charts. I don't think that it's dropped much in popularity as a middle name though. Grace has never been on my list, but I can appreciate it. I can think of 3 people with the first name Grace who I have actually met. One was elderly and two were around my age (I'm currently 23). I don't know very many young children, but if I did, I probably would have met more people named Grace.I love the name Marie as a first name. It's very common as a middle name, but I don't think that it's necessarily boring. It sounds too pretty to be boring if you ask me. Grace isn't necessarily boring either; it's just common. As for Gracie, I've never liked it at all. It seems too cutesy. I definitely prefer Grace as the full name. Gracie is better as a nickname, although I don't really care for it even then.

Grace is all right. I prefer it as a first name just because it's been used as a middle name so much. Gracie is a cute nickname, but I don't like it as a full name. Too cutesy for an adult.

I love that name. I only know one person with the first name Grace. I think if you did use that as a fn that it would be refreshing. I think it is beautiful and simple. I wouldn't use Gracie as a fn. It would be O.K. when she is younger, but i personally wouldn't take an adult with that name as seriously. But, very good for a nickname! Go for it! :)

It's not terrible, but does strike me as dull, even as a fn. Gracie's all right as nn, I knew an adult Grace who always went by Gracie.
