Well, it is mentioned in a dictionary (wiktionary):"
NounJezebel (plural Jezebels) 1. An evil, scheming or shameless woman; an immoral woman. She’s an absolute Jezebel!"Seriously I think one would have to be quite sadistic to name ones child essentially a whore. Seriously. A name is NOT just a collection of sounds or syllables. Words tend to have meanings, and these should be considered. Just because a word sounds pretty doesn't mean it's suitable as a name.Or what do you think about Harlot? Trollop? Temptress? Amoral?

For a girl pet, for sure!Jezebel is one of those names that I like but would feel dreadfully guilty giving to a child. How awful to have to defend yourself at every turn for a parent's choice! No matter how pretty it is, it still has so much cultural baggage. I'm not sure why Jezebel gets the brunt of it, when other "Biblical bad girl" names, like Eve, Delilah, and Lilith (well, apocryphal in that case) has escaped total societal condemnation. It's a shame for sure. But it would be an awesome kitten name! :D

Completely unusable. Jezebel paints the type of picture I wouldn't want associated with my daughter.

I think it's usablePersonally I think it's usable. However the story is hardly known by most people here. I think it's very pretty. I always thought Jessabelle was really pretty as well.Delilah is getting really common so I don't see the problem.Jezebel Cordelia
Jezebel Louisa
Jezebel Charlotte
Jezebel Victoria
Jezebel Mae
Jezebel Kathleen
Jezebel Catherine

I think it's unusable because of its strong negative connotation from The Bible. "Jezebel" is a term used to denote an evil, conniving woman.

I agree as well. It's not just a well-known figure or a popular connotation--it's entered mainstream vocabulary as a derogatory term. I think it's beyond reclaiming. It's kind of unfortunate. I don't personally care for it but I could see it as being something parents would consider, all things aside. It's beginning, the Jez- is reminiscent to me of the popular Jessica, and -bel endings are certainly having their day.

dittoing you both"Jezebel" is a synonim for "slut", something you can't ignore even if you're not religious.
