I like Jade as a GP. It is weird because I find it slightly tacky, yet spunky and fun. I would never use it, yet I find something intriguing about it.

It's one of those names I neither like or dislike. I used to know one, is 30 by now, from England. I've lived in the UK for a while and it seems the infamous reality-TV star Jade Goody gave it a bit of a bad rep, though I assume that will pass and might have passed already.

I know a five year old Jade. I think it's kind of blah and boring, but it's not the worst name out there.

I knew a boy Jade with a sister Amber. Over the top; and he was a very strapping young man, field athlete, solid! Nice kid; he grew up to be an auctioneer. He'd be in his 30s by now.

With the exception of Coralie, I don't like gem names for either sex.

I am beginning to like Jade more and more. It seems so much more sophisticated than Jaden or Jada -- it really reminds me more of Jane.

I've met one Jade. She went to my middle school and was in my grade, meaning she's probably 23 now. I think she was Australian? I also know a Catherine Jade "CJ" who is my age as well, and a baby Hannah Jade.

Late 90s/Early 00s is considered dated? Since when?!

I like the name Jade as a middle name; it's short and sweet, but not "filler material".

It reminds me of a Bratz Doll or whatever.

I really don't like it because of that.

My DH and I love the name and I have known a few girls named Jade. There is a possibility that we may use the name one day, but we'll see. It might be a little dated, but I love the fact that it's a gem name and to me, they don't really date.

I want to like it, since I like Ruby and Pearl as guilty pleasures. I think the oversaturation of it it in the 90s, plus some tacky associations with it make it difficult for me to warm to the name. I don't hate it, but I'm not a fan of it either.

I love Jade. I've known about 3 or 4. My friend's daughter is Jade, she's 10. Known her since she was 2.

My sister is named Jade, she is 22. I always liked it.

I never met one. Have met a Jaden though (girl). I like it.

I don't like the name. It does seem a bit modern and tacky to me. It's like a harsher version of Jane, if that makes sense.

I have a friend named Jade, she doesn't suit my thoughts of the name at all. It's odd because her siblings have very Welsh names, Carys and Rhydian.

I knew an Asian woman once named Jade. She'd be about 40 years old now. I thought it was a striking name then and I still love it.

Jade seems popular as a middle name. I have had a Jade as one of my students. I never thought it fit her as she tried to stay hidden (in a drama class) most of the time. The other Jade we had at the school was a big, loud girl who lived up to the sparkleness of her name.

I've only met one and she was born in the late 80s.
