[Opinions] Alexandra
What do you think of the name Alexandra? I love its elegance and its history. Thanks!

Shortened to Alexa, it's very good. Shortened to just about anything else, but especially Sandra, it's dreadful. Safer as a mn, perhaps?

Alexandra is nice. I'm not sure I'd ever use it because I have other favorites (Cassandra, for example), but Alexandra is a great classic -- elegant, strong, beautiful. My bff named her dd Alexandra Claire which I think is a great combo.

I like it. Though I prefer Alice for my own list, Alexandra used to be in its place. Though my style has changed, I still appreciate its elegance.I love Alexandra Therese.

I love Alexandra. At one point I would have said that my only problem with it is that I don't like any of the nicknames. I especially dislike Alex, I'm not crazy about Lexie, Sandra I kind of like but it seems dated, and because it became an accepted name in its own right I really wouldn't want it as a nickname for Alexandra. I've known two Alexandras, one went by Alex and one went by Sandy, and I don't like Sandy, either. But I discovered that the full name of my SO's daughter, whom he always referred to as Zan, is Alexandra. I must say, I do like Zan.

I'm probably going to be one of the few (if not the only) who says that I intensely dislike this name. Almost every Alexandra I've ever known has been a horrible, horrible person. In fact, they've tainted almost all Alex- names for me. I wish I could say that I like Alex-names, but mostly, I don't. Sorry.

It's my cousin's name, and she goes by the nickname Alex. Personally, I'd never use it- not just because it's my cousin's name, but I just don't like it enough. I also think there are much more preferable nicknames than Alex- I really like Lexi and Sasha.

I like it for other people but I'd never use it. I'm not a fan of the nickname Alex either, Lexie is cute though.

It's okey but it's so common it has become pretty bland and boring. I think it's a good, timeless name but I can't say I like it. And I despise Alex as a nickname. I think that's one reason why I can't really like it, Alex really ruins it for me.

I like it, but I prefer Alexandria. My favorite nickname for Alexandra / Alexandria is Lexie.
