[Opinions] Jennifer
I've known quite a few ladies with this name as their FIRST NAME and here is what they all had in common-1. Almost all were rude, demanding and conceited
2. All cheated on their boyfriends
3. All slept with married men
4. A few were gold-diggers and/or users in relationships
5. Most were low incomeThe real irony is that Jennifer is my "middle name" and i am none of the above(perhaps because it's a middle name). lol
But because the name Jennifer has such a negative connotation for many people, I seldom, if ever, disclose that it's my middle name.
When someone asks what the "J" stands for-I'll usually say something like Juliette as opposed to admitting it's Jennifer.
The reason i say this is because i have gotten flack in the past from people. They'll usually say stuff like "oh i knew a Jennifer once, she ran off with my husband" or "she stole my job" or "The Jennifer I knew couldn't be trusted" etc etc.
So i learned not to admit that's my middle name. Which is not hard to do considering it's not a first name for me:) If it was a first name i would have changed it the minute i turned 18.I believe that there is a certain psychology behind a name and i do believe that it is more than simple coincidence that certain people with certain names behave a certain way. If that makes any sense.

Jennifer is one of my top favorites! It's in our top 5 for our next daughter. I love it, and think of someone sweet and innocent, like Jennifer Aniston.

I have a snotty cousin with this name. She was always better than thou. I don't think she slept with married men and definitely wasn't low income. But she was one of those child pageant queens and still is that way as a 35 year old woman. She's a bit much really. However, I also knew a very sweet Jennifer that I was friends with in H.S. She was a beautiful singer and had a great heart. Really wonderful girl. Anyway, the cousin association has put me off the name as well. I guess when a name is common amongst a certain age group, you're bound to run into people who have associations with it. In 20 years, people will be bitching about Emmas and Isabellas. :)As an aside: my BFF's name is Maggie and "everyone has a dog named Maggie".

WeirdThat's weird. Every Jennifer I've known is the exact opposite. Sweet, charming, nice, good friends. I've never had a bad thought associated with Jennifer. In fact it is one of my favorite names. My grandma is Jenny though it is a nickname for Genevieve but it gives me another warm and welcoming feeling when I hear Jennifer.

Jennifer is one of those names like Sarah, Elizabeth, John, or William, that have been used enough to have no particular image or stereotype associated with them. To me, at least. I have come across a few unpleasant Jennifers, a girl from junior high in particular. But the others I have known have been friendly and all-around awesome.

Jennifer is a very common name, so yes, I can imagine Jennifers who fit the above criteria, but I have met plenty of Jennifers who weren't like how you described at all. Actually, none were like that. I'd attribute your experience with the name to coincidence.

I agree with the rude, demanding, and conceited part, but the other four I haven't seen with real-life women named Jennifer. But not all of them are like that - it's a popular name and some of us just happen to have bad luck.

My first nameI am a Jennifer. I will admit that I can be rude at times, but who isn't? I am not demanding or condeited. I never had a boyfriend, so I couldn't cheet on him, and wouldn't. I never slept with a married man. I'm not a gold digger or user, but then I'd have to be in a relationship to be accused of that. I am not rich, but a lot of people, especially in the agricultural area I live in, are no where near rich, regardless of what Gov. Walker and his people say. If that is what people think of me because of my name, thank God I don't hang around them.

I don't think those Jennifers you knew were genuinely like that. Some people just play up to the stereotype.

Ugh.I think you're overreacting. I've never had any real problems with any Jennifers.

Are you serious? That's a pretty crazy stereotype. I know lots of Jennifers (very common name in my childhood) and I can't say any of them are any of those things. Jennifer is kind of a boring name to me, but I don't think it's bad or have any bad connotations. Very strange.

I Agree with you . BUT my Wife's name is Jénnifer , and she's very strict and she is very trusted and serious , she's also a teacher and she is so beautiful , maybe because of her last name which is TORTORA that changes everything.

lolI don't know any Jennifers who have done any of those things. I don't think the name Jennifer turns people into evil sluts - it's a simple correlation of a very popular name on many people, some of whom happen to be unfortunate individuals. I think you need to take a few deep breaths. You poor thing.

Yeah. I know a heck of a lot of Jennifers, and I can't think of any off the top of my head who did any of the things the OP mentioned. No doubt there are some, but to group every Jennifer in the world together as such a person seems unfair to all the wonderful Jennifers out there.

YeahI actually think Jennifer feels like a successful woman sort of name. She's always busy with whatever she does and she's well-kept and friendly and always trying to cheer up others.

i agree too. What's funny is that your description of Jennifer is all the Amber's I have ever known! hahahahaha! It's really all about personal associations.

I've had a lot of people tell me that Amber is a "stripper name" LOL Even my friend Amber told me that! I haven't known any strippers named Amber though.

I get that kind of impression from Amber, too, although not all Ambers I've known have been that way.

Maybe it's just everyone with an 80's name :P
Jk. I pretty much agree that any popular name is more likely to be associated with mean people, because there are more mean people with the name as well as more normal and nice people. Although I do see "Jennifer" as a bossy-ish name...
