[Opinions] Jade or Jane
I like them both at the moment. Obviously couldn't use both of them. Jane is sometimes lovely and sometimes boring to me. I usually think Jade is really beautiful but from time to time I think it's just tacky and trashy. Hmmm. Opinions? Is Jade too common? What would a Jade be like and look like? A Jane?

Jane, every time. Jade sounds like Jane with a bad cold, and the only Jade I've ever known personally was a boy of Greek descent, big and beefy and a good field athlete who joined his dad's auctioneering business when he grew up. Oh yes, and he had a sister named Amber.

Jane. Jane is like Anne, put it in the middle spot and it does absolutely nothing for me. Sure, it can seem a bit bland and short for a first name, but then I think of the history behind these names. In Jane's case I think of Jane Grey, the Nine Days Queen, or Jane Austen. Jane Goodall. Jane Russell. Also Jane Bennett and Jane Eyre from literature. When I think of these women, suddenly Jane isn't so plain anymore.

Oh, Jane. A thousand times Jane. I'll always despise Jade. Between "jaded" and jade aka harlot, the gemstone definition of the word isn't enough to make it a positive name, at least not to me.I'm terrible at coming up with what someone should look like based on a name, so I think a Jane or Jade would probably look like an amalgamation of her parents and/or grandparents, lol.

Jaden, which from what I've heard is a form of Jade, is a lot more common than Jade imo. So I'd stick with Jane.

Jade and Jane are both nice. Just depends what you're pairing it with.
I don't know that you can necessarily define what someone of a particular name will necessarily be like. I don't think of Jade as trashy at all.
Jade's moderately common, but not as ridiculous as some. You could pair it w/ something that works well as a double name just to make sure she's distinguishable from other Jades if you so choose.

I'll never like Jade. In addition to the stone, it is also synonymous with strumpet. I also think gem names on the whole (excepting Gem for a boy) are lower tier. And oh, what a difference one consonant makes. Jane is glorious, intellectual, clean, and charming. The uppermost tier of taste and refinement.

I also love both names, but out of the two I'd probably go with Jane. Simply said, it's more classic than Jade.

JaneJane is my middle name, which I mostly go by. I am anything but boring, as any of my peers can attest.
Jade is the name of my cat, and I so have a very hard time associating it with
humans.
Both Janes and Jades are physically beautiful, but they have different personalities, from my experience. Janes tend to be either prim or punk, sometimes both at different times, while Jades tend to self-destruct.*On a side note, telling people to call me Jane instead of my first name (which is beautiful but one of the most popular names ever) has benefited me manifold.

I didn't know a name could determine a personality. Jades tend to self-destruct? Wtf?
