Mara is Mah-ra, and Maura is More-a. So very different pronunciations......
Preferences? Hmm. I prefer the way Mara looks, but I think I prefer the way Maura sounds....
I've never known anyone with either name, and would say I like both names enough. I can picture each on girls and women of all ages, which is a good thing....
