[Opinions] A celeb BA I forgot to post!
British writer, broadcaster and poker player, Victoria Coren, and her husband David Mitchell, comedian and actor, had a baby back in May and named her Barbara Elizabeth June. Elizabeth is also Victoria's middle name. Thoughts?

Elizabeth is totally timeless, but Barbara and June are like time travel back to the 1950s or even 1940s. I actually enjoy Barbara, but I'd take Jane or Jean or Joan over June any day.

I was so excited to hear they'd had a baby, since I think they're both awesome (although I didn't even know she was pregnant until the latest series of Only Connect). I was a bit disappointed when I looked up the name though. Barbara is one of those dated and still not ready for revival names, and I just don't like it. I like Elizabeth, but it's hardly an original or interesting middle. But I guess June adds a bit of a spark to it, and to be honest, I can kind of see it as the sort of name they'd choose, for some reason. Anyway, congrats to them.

Love!
Love the two of them and love the name.Barbara is not old and dated where I live and it’s what I plan to name my daughter if I ever have one. In my case it’s honoring, but I know plenty of children with this name where it’s just because of the saint or because the parents liked it.

The sonority and repetition(s) within the name "Barbara" convey strength, which either attracts with appeal or repels with disgust; however when spoken, as though in southern NY, the sound "Baubra" - softens and deepens into the inherent state of "exoticism", exemplified with the onomatopoeia. Not a provable fact, but The legend of Saint Barbara is quite similar to the fairy tale, Rapunzel. I love my name. Ladies love to call me Barbie because my personality is the exact opposite of those all-too-common connotations, so they spare no occasion to re-iterate my name when speaking. Best of Luck for your future daughter. I have read on other name cites that folks are coming around to Barbara again, stating that it is exotic and sophisticated: we've had such bad press through the past twenty years or more!

Well, you certainly don't see Barbara on many babies these days, but I don't think it's reached "refreshing" status quite yet. I've always disliked it, it's very harsh. Elizabeth and June together as middle names are adorable, though.

Barbara is hideous. Love Elizabeth June as her middle names though.

Sounds like a 60 year old. Very dated. I hate Barbara and can't understand how it was ever popular.

I don't like Barbara but it's exactly what I'd expect from these two.

I thought the same! I'm not a fan of Barbara at all, but it's just the kind of thing I would have expected. I think it works perfectly for the two of them.

It's nice; I don't see anything wrong with it other than that maybe it's a bit dull.

Both Elizabeth and June are fine; both classic and ageless (suitable to any age)Barbara on the other hand....yeah I literly can not picture this name on an younger individual. It just screams "woman in her 50's or above" never in a million years would I assume the name was for meant for a kid today. It surprises me that the name is still in the top 1000's (at least in the states) I never cared for "Barbara" its plain, dated and nothing special
