I would only pronounce it "My-ah". The spelling Mya looks ambigious to me; is it pronounced as "my-a" or as Mia (mee-a)?
I think the spelling depends on which Maya you want.
- Maia: The Roman (or Greek) goddess of spring. The month May was named after her.
- Maya:
1) Name of Native American tribe (Mexico),
2) Jewish, from mayim (water)
3) Sanskrit "illusion"
Then there is the Scandinavian name Maja (pronounced as Maya), which was a pet name for Maria but used as a formal name now.
I find Isla and Maya a bit rhyming b/c of the same vowel sounds ("eye" and "a").
