[Opinions] Sheila vs Shelagh
I’m not really a fan of the name Sheila but I don’t dislike it as much as I used to. I only recently realised the Shelagh I knew spelt it this way and I think I prefer it. She’s a really nice lady too so maybe that’s why I like it so much. It says on here that it is english (rare) but I’m pretty sure it’s irish. WDYT? And what are some middle names to go with it?

I had a teacher named Sile, pronounced Sheila. She was Irish. She was also blind! (meaning of name) I think Sheila is nicer in these more authentic spellings. Something kind of corny and fashionable about Sheila.

I've always liked Sheila itself, and I don't think Shelagh would be a good idea in my country, the US. It would cause confusion and there's no reason for it.

CeciliaI only recently realized that Sheila is related to the name Cecilia. Now that I know it, I can see it. But I had no idea previously and was surprised to discover that. Of the two, I prefer Cecilia.

Never noticed that before!

I like Sheila and Sile. Shelagh is very unpleasant looking, imo.

Prefer Sheila. Shelagh's pronunciation is not intuitive to me. It looks like She log.
