[Opinions] Adrian for a girl
Thoughts? I know this spelling is not exclusively masculine, in the comments section for the name, there are a few instances of female uses. I think I like it more then the Adrienne spelling.

I do see it as masculine and Adrienne as feminine.

I've seen it as a gal's name. I think on a woman it seems weirdly neutered and plain, if not actually mannish, and dated to the 70's. Kinda like Robin. I like it for a guy though. I like the Adrienne spelling (pron. the same) better on a gal. And Adria is even better. Here's a link to another thread about this name from last fall:

I like it. I don't view Adrienne as a spelling, it's a different pronunciation. For AY-dree-ən, I like Adrian or Adrien (I think they're both good as unisex spellings but Adrien looks a little more feminine than Adrian).

There's a small difference, but I prefer Adrien over Adrian; the French spelling. Adrienne is the feminine form of Adrien and I admit it's literally the same name. However I'm not a fan of it being a feminine name. Adriana is okay though I guess.

I'm with those who like the name so much for a boy, I'd never contemplate it for a girl. I do like Adrienne for a girl. But if personally forced to choose between Adrian for a boy or Adrienne for a girl, I'd choose boy every time.

I really dislike Adrian for a boy and I don't like it any better on a girl. I would assume a girl named this would be spelled Adrienne until told differently.

I think it's great on a girl, particularly a grown woman. It's got a powerful sound.
Adrienne is good too but I don't think it's necessary and actually confuses people on the pronunciation (it's needlessly extra).

Don't like it for a girl

I like Adrian so much for a boy that it would never dawn on me to use it for a girl.

I hate it. And don’t quite honestly I don’t even like the Adrienne spelling much more since it just looks like to me you’re trying to make a masculine name look feminine. I’d much prefer Adrienne on a girl however even though it doesn’t make much of a difference.

It works.

Personally I dont particularly like the name Adrian for a girl nor Adrienne. I think they might be too masculine for my taste. Maybe Adriana, kind of similar sound, but a bit more feminine
