one of my favorites... to me it feels sophisticated and adorable at the same time, a quality few names have. im also kind of a sucker for flower names in general, but it's so nice for a name to make people think about something as beautiful as a flower whenever they hear it :)

I used to really like it. Now I think it's just okay.It is sort of boring. It feels like a name that should have been popular 15 years ago with Chloe and Ava and Ella.So it feels tired even though it is just starting to get popular now many celebrities used it in the late 90s and 2000s.

I used to love this name so much. I still like it a lot but I always struggle wether to include it on my T10 (it didn’t make the cut this time around). I’m not sure if I prefer Violet or Viola these days (and on that note, which prn of Viola I even prefer! Definitely VIE-ə-lə and VEE-ə-lə over vie-O-lə, though).I think it just might be a little too soft for my liking (or loving, rather) now.

Lovely flower name! I also like Viola.

I've always loved it, it's my favourite V name. I like the sharp but elegant sound and it makes me think of the Downton Abbey character played by Maggie Smith.

I've never liked it. Lovely flower, though. My grandmother knew an earlier wave of Violet people; she said that far from being modest and quiet, in her experience a Violet tended to be large, flat-footed and opinionated!

DittoThere is also a problem with French Violette, since viol in the French language means rape (as I've read in the comments).
Perhaps that isn't an issue for many people, but, yeah...
P.S. I still like Viola and Violet.
