[Opinions] Octavia
Thoughts?Pretty regal, elegant and cute. Definitely my cup of tea :)It might get on my top 10 feminine names. However, I hope it makes a comeback in my country soon and stops being dated.

I love Octavia. I really want to see it used more. I agree. Regal, elegant, but cute? Meh, sure I guess. But Octavia is drop-dead GORGEOUS.

It's lovely. I prefer Ottavia, though.

One of my all-time favorites. I bet it'll get fashionable in the US soon, like all my other fricken favorites.

Octavia is a cool name. I personally prefer the Italian variant, Ottavia, but it would likely get confused with Octavia on a constant basis anywayI have actually seen this name in real life a few times, and mainly on older teenagers / twenty-somethings (so, primarily Gen Z). Perhaps I should also add that all of these bearers were Black / African-American; and given the ages I doubt Octavia Spencer had a huge influence on popularity then (she wasn't hugely famous until The Help). So in the United Stated - my region, at least - Octavia seems to be used by Black families semi-regularly.

The science fiction writer Octavia Butler, who in 1995 was the first science fiction author to win a Macarthur Genius Grant, may have had some influence here. Though especially in the Southeast USA, names ending in -avia for girls and -avius for boys were fashionable with Black parents back then.

I love this name, another similar one I like is Odessa.

I'm a shade more into Ottavia because it feels "softer" and not as angular sounding but Octavia is still pretty cool.
