Not bad. I know 2 girls named Sage who are my age.

I love it, have for years and years now. I do prefer it for a girl, but it is one unisex name I also love for boys. I love the nature and wisdom connections, a very nice name.

Sage is perfectly fine for a girl. But it’s just that, fine, nothing too exciting but not awful either. It has a very natural, wholesome vibe to it.

I imagine it'd sound like SAYj, not SAHzh. In which case, it's very herbal and culinary; when I think of it, my brain automatically adds "and onion stuffing". I'd rather see it used as a mn.

It always has an element of mysticism to it due to the connection of burning Sage and some spiritual practices

I like it for a boy or a girl. It's simple and strong yet sort of earthy and magical.

I like it. It has fun wise old counselor or philosopher association but is also an herb, making it more nature based than most scholar adjacent names. I prefer it as a middle name because it can sound like a title.

Sage is one of the few names that really seems unisex, which makes me want to use either a clearly feminine middle name so it wont seem like I'm afraid/ashamed of gender. Middle name suggestions:
Sage Zora Neale - In honor of Zora Neale Hurston.
Sage Hypatia - After the mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher in Alexandria
Sage Xena
Sage Althea

It feels very self-conscious to me. Self-consciously unisex, self-consciously nature, self-consciously smart?
It does nothing at all for me, on a girl or a boy.
