I like Alanis but prefer it as a middle name I think

Alanis is a pretty name. I doubt most kids would know or care about Alanis Morisette, and it's not a bad association.

I'd use Alan for a boy, that spelling only, but Alanis for a girl really doesn't appeal to me. Alannah is better, but still not something I'd choose. Maybe Alanis Bryony, or Alanis Jocelyn?

I honestly don't care for it, given a choice would be far more likely to use Alana instead, maybe Alana Jewell, after a freind.

It's pretty. Maybe Alanis Paige?

I don't think it sounds attractive, the sound of it seems medical or something. Also, hardly anybody ever heard of this name before Alanis Morisette came along and it's kind of a one-off.

Well, Alanis Morissette's middle name is Nadine.

I like the way it sounds, but I can't separate it from the artist, so I would never use it. It might be different for someone younger than me, though. They might not have that instant association.
