Emma, it’s cleaner and more international.
Charlotte
However I like both.

Emma
I used to like Charlotte, but lately it grates my nerves somehow, especially when it's shortened to Charlie

I've always thought that Emma was a silly little name, and its whoosh up the charts has done nothing to change my mind. I dislike Charlotte but it has more substance and can shorten to Chaz or Charlie or,indeed, Charles like a very hetero girl I knew at school. Charlotte, then, reluctantly.
Emma, both are great though
Charlotte
Despite Charlotte being in the top 20 in Scotland and the top 30 in England and Wales I only know one person named Charlotte and she is a 16 year old young leader at my brownies.
I am thoroughly bored of Emma. As a brownie guider (girls 7-10 years old) I have come across it a lot of Emma’s recently.
