I like it a lot as a name, but a NN is more likely. Nickname for a wild, untamed, or free-spirited person.
The slang term is unfortunate, but better than Dick and Fanny. About equal to Karen in meaning if not worse.
I've never heard it before today, though. I wouldn't worry about it as a parent.
