It's very strange - for anyone, a pet or person. Sunny would have been the best alternative, especially if it were an orange tabby or something. :o

better a cat than a child. The cat doesn't care how it's spelled

I mean, the cat could care, and we just don't know because we can't communicate.

Sonny is a perfectly pretty name, especially silly for a cat. Glad to hear that kr8tiv moniker went to a pet and not a human however.

It's ridiculous and it does not make sense to give to a cat. It's a cat!

lol My cat's "Full name" is Rosamund Opal Essence Lastname. (but I call her "Rose") I can understand the appeal of giving a cat/pet a ridiculous name. Pets can be a way to use a silly name you like without it socially hurting a person, for instance. Doesn't hurt the pet. So long as their needs are being met and they are healthy and unharmed, they don't care what they are called. The only exception could be for a dog, or similar and if they have a very long name since it might cause confusion. I read once that two syllable names are best for dogs since they hear and process those best. But I could be misremembering.

I guess this person waste to used a ridiculous names so shy not on a cat. It must've been awkward at the vet's office spelling out the cat's name!

Yes I also feel bad for the vets that have to deal with the spelling of pets name in official paperwork 😓

My vet is used to ridiculous cat names. Once the name is in the system it stops being a big deal. My cat is Atalanta.
