I am unconvinced the boy will know Peregrine is a bird until much much later and even then, he might not. I had no idea that Peregrine was a bird - a normal, non-bird person would just call the thing a "falcon" and that's it. The only birds people know actual names of are like Robins, Doves, Pigeons (I know these are doves, but most people will have no idea. "rats with wings" they call them which is a real shame, I like pigeons. They argue that they shit everywhere and its like??? all animals shit everywhere Dave - your dog is literally shitting on the carpet right now) and maybe like the Dodo and Falcons / Hawks (they will not know the difference), and of course the Titbird based upon the name alone
