[Opinions] The Dionne Quintuplets
The first surviving quintuplets, born in 1934. ALL IDENTICAL! Annette Lillianne Marie Dionne (Allard)
Cécile Marie Emilda Dionne (Langlois)
Emilie Marie Jeanne Dionne (died August 6, 1954)
Marie Reina Alma Dionne (Houle) (died February 27, 1970)
Yvonne Edouilda Marie Dionne (died June 23, 2001 of cancer) This was quite the amazing thing back then. I thought their names were interesting. WDYT?

I love Cécile Marie Emilda and Marie Reina Alma (what a great meaning for a Catholic baby). These remind me of my Ecuadorian cousins...I've got 100+ female cousins, and I can think of ONE who doesn't have María somewhere in her name.

And all were named Marie!Wonder if it was a family name or if it honored Virgin Mary.I think the names Annette, Cécile, Emilie, Marie and Yvonne are good French names. They go together well but are not cutesie. I also like Lillianne, Jeanne, Reina and Alma. Emilda and Edouilda are totally new to me.- She said he made a racial slur!
- Racial? She is Swedish!
- Maybe he called her Meatball."I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’ve decided to be spontaneous."

Yes, it is in honour........of the Virgin Mary, that was very common at the time. Also, many, or most, men had Joseph somewhere in their name.

My dad (who grew up in a very Catholic part of Glasgow in the 60s) had neighbours with 5 kids. They all had the middle name Mary, including the boys :-)_____________________________________________________________________Elinor

My stepfather is related to them, though I'm not sure how. I think some of their names are great, others I'm not too impressed with. Individually I like Annette, Marie, Yvonne, Jeanne, and Cecile the most.

I feel so bad for them, and their mother. As for the names: I love them. The only ones I'm not sure of are Edouilda and Emilda. The rest are lovely.

Yeah they had it rough growing up...I guess they were put into some kind of theme park and 6,000 people came to view them everyday. It's sad they were treated that way.
