WDYTO Gerard, nn Ger (pr. Jair/Jare)? Gerard has really been growing on me. I'm not sure I'd ever use it for a fn, but it sounds for a mn I think.

Sounds too surname-y to me. My first thoughts were, "Matthew Gerard co-wrote Breakaway".

Gerard is a great name, I really like it. However I wouldn't use a nickname with it.
