Leia?
I mentioned to a friend the other day that Leia is one of my favorite girl's names, and she started laughing and said that it was too Star Wars. I don't really think of it as being Star Wars, what do you guys think?

I see it as the Yiddish form of Lea, but also as very Star Wars!

I love it to pieces, but it really is 100% Star Wars and nothing else.I would use it in an instant except for the Star Wars connection - it's just a little too overtly fangirly. But I must ask S about it, since he's an even more hardcore Star Wars fan than I am lol.My other problem with it is that my aunt is Leonora "Leo" (prn lay-oh-NOR-uh and LAY-oh), so Leia (LAY-uh) might be too similar.

I definately see it as Star Wars, as most people here in the US are either named Leah or Lea. Leia didn't jump on the scene until Star Wars actually. I like it anyway, as I used to have a cousin that would call me that as a nn for Leah.

YOU might not associate it with "Star Wars" but almost everyone else you meet will. Something to consider, perhaps. I don't care for the LAY sound, oddly enough, but I love Leila (LAY-lah). :b I like Leah much more than Leia as well.

I like Leia [Lay-uh] its nice, but true it is famously related to star wars which is too bad. Leah or Lia or Lea are nice aswell.
