Galen?
Hello everyone,
I've been really busy for the past couple of days, but I have some time off (finally!) to come around here again :) Anyway, I'd like your opinions on a name I heard yesterday: Galen. I think it's very cool sounding, but do you think it has too much teasing potential, because of the "gay" in it? No offense to gay people, but it may make someone tease a person with that name. So, ok to use or no?
Thank you!
Iris

I would give it a wholehearted NO!, sorry.

I love Galen, but I'd be afraid of teasing, as sad as that is. It's also probably a bit feminine sounding to many (Gay + Lynn) besides having the word "gay" in it. But I love the look and sound of it for some reason.

I like Galen. I don't think it'd be a problem because of the "gay" sound in it; the only issue might arise because it's such a rarely used name -- people may not know how to say it."Les yeux sont aveugles. Il faut chercher avec le coeur." -- Le Petit Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I've always loved the name Galen. If the child would be teased for Galen, then they would probably also be teased with a name like Gabriel. I say go for it and ignore stupid people who would do something like that.
