I prefer Laura but Lauren is nice, too.

Definitely LauraLauren is dated to me. I like Laurel as an alternative to Lauren, but Laura wins overall.

Laura, by far. I find Lauren a bit snooty. I also like Laurel, but still prefer Laura.

Oh I've never met a nice Laura in my whole life (and I've met many) so I have bad personal associations with it but I still prefer it over Lauren. It sounds prettier than Lauren. I think I could really like it if I hadn't known all those unfriendly Lauras.Lauren never appealed to me. Laura is at least a bit appealing if I try to push the bad personal associations aside but Lauren is so colorless.Oh and did you notice how quickly Laura is falling? I never would've imagined. I thought it would stay common forever, like Elizabeth.

Definitely Laura. It's much prettier.

Laura, but I'm biasedbecause my name is Laura. I've loved having the name growing up, even though it was super popular the year I was born (top 40). I think it holds a lot more history and class than Lauren, which is a silly trendy offshoot birthed in the 20th century. Please, stick with the original; there are so many wonderful namesakes and ties to Laura that Lauren simply can't carry, and Laura is just plain prettier.

I hugely agree! Plus, with Lauren there's the French problem ... Laurent with the -t silent for a boy, and Laurence for a girl ... which using Lauren for a girl just tangles up even worse.

Lauren. Though since it's my name, I am a little biased.

Dislike them both, however Laura less so. They seem very dated to me.
