I pronounce it A-ma-lee-ah. I really like it, and if I have another baby girl it will be a serious contender. My favourite combo for it is Amalia Madeleine.

AHM-ah-li-uh is close to how I pronounce it.
I really like this name, it's so simple but it's different to Amelia/Amelie/Emilie etc. It's just a beautiful name, longer than you think too.
I really don't know, I havn't experimented with combos for it before. Off the top of my head Amalia Lauren sounds nice as does Amalia Rose and Amalia Willow.=)

Honestly, I do not like the syllable "mal," a root meaning "bad." As in malevolent, malcontent, malice, et al. Amelia is a far better choice to me, but I do not HATE Amalia. It's just that a better option is available.

I love Amalia and it is a name I would really like to use someday. I pronounce it something between ah-MAHL-yah and ah-MAHL-ee-ah. I would use Margareta as a middle name. Margareta was the name of my great-great-great-grandmother and I always thought it sounded cool.

I love this name. It's so much better than Amelia, which is more popular for some reason. I prn it uh-MAH-lee-uh.

-A-MAH-lia.What are your opinions?
-To be honest, I don't care for it. I have a tendency to break names down and associate them with other words and phrases, so the reason I don't like this name is because it sounds like "I'll maul ya", which is either very violent or very sexual. Or both. What middle name would you use with Amalia?
-Let me see...Amalia Jane
Amalia Rose
Amalia Leigh
Amalia Katrina
Amalia June
Amalia Helena
Amalia Scarlett

I really like it and I'd use it. I pronounce it the Italian way, A-MA-lee-ah.If I'd use it, I'd use it with Luisa as a mn, for honoring purposes.

Louise always pops into my head, right after I hear Amalia. It's a natural flow; I can't even think of any other middle names. :P

I work with an Amalia. She pronounces it Uh-mah-lee-uh. I think it's pretty but not something I'd use.
