Shadrach and Paz
As promised, two names I like that we don't discuss here much.
So, give your opinions... Like them? Hate them? (be brutal, I don't care):-) Any combo ideas?I have been a fan of Shadrach for ages now, saw it in a book on a guy whose nickname was Shade. No one here mentions it and I would think that it would fit in with all the other Biblical rare names people love. I love Paz, but always feel like it should be a nickname for something.ETA: I pronounce Shadrach 'SHAD-rach', ch is the Hebrew ch (like in Scottish loch). Some combos I like:Shadrach Antonio
Shadrach Noam
Shadrach Yan
Shadrach Damian
Eli Shadrach
Shadrach Flynn
Ian Shadrach
Shadrach PagePaz Veronika
Mercedes Paz
Isadora Paz
Paz Heladia
Jenara Paz
Anita Paz
Paz Adonia
Paz Dominga
Paz Milena

Shadrach is pretty cool, especially nn Shade...
I like Shadrach Yan best.
I like Paz as a nn or a mn. Pascale? It's also good as a fn, but I probably would't use it. It needs something hyper/zippy or just with lots of character. I really like Paz Dominga.

Paz is kinda cool. I can see myself using it in something. The pronunciation you're using for Shadrach is really weird to me. I've only ever heard it pronounce shad-rack (equal stress on both parts) and I prefer that pronunciation. That said, Shadrach is nothing I'm excited about. Just NMS, I suppose.

I think Shadrach is fantastic, in a Dickensian sort of way. Not so sure about Paz - nice meaning, but I suspect that in the UK people would definitely think it was a nickname, along the lines of Baz, Gaz and Shaz.

Mm, at first glance I was going to be against Shadrach, but then you said "nickname Shade" and I changed my mind. Now the more I say it the better it sounds. I love Shade, the only thing that would make me a bit wary are those books by Kenneth Oppel. I mean, I liked them, but names that have been used on animals, no matter how personified, tend to fall a bit in my eyes. Hm. I'll have to think on this one!Paz is a bit foreign as a person's name to me. I've only seen it as part of place names, so that what I think of.

Paz reminds me too much of Pez. You know, that God-awful candy that you would load into a dispenser with a cartoon character head? Pax I like (on a boy or a girl) and it means the same thing as Paz.
Shadrach is ... ok but not "OMG This is better than sliced bread!" ok. Shade is an awesome nickname for him but the name Shadrach doesn't do anything for me. It looks clumsy and unprofessional.

Hey, I liked Pez candy:-) Used to have a collection of the cartoon characters. I do also like Pax, but feel that it's gone to the boy's side with Brangelina using it for a son and all.
