I kinda like it and it can work on either gender. Dallas doesn't seem very common these days and might be kinda refreshing.

There is a Dallas in my family. I've never cared for it, because I generally dislike place names and the sound isn't very appealing. It also gives me kind of a country vibe, which I dislike.

Nope... not a fan of it. Not at all.

I think it's all boy. It would be a very unattractive name for a girl, in my opinion. I met a little boy named Texas at work not that long ago. I think Texas works much better as a name than Dallas.

Texas feels kinda tacky as a person's name. Dallas feels way more natural as a name. Texas brings up the image of gun-totin' oil tycoon who goes into shock if he meets a vegetarian (Whudda ya mean ya don eat meat?). Dallas doesn't carry that same image... possibly because I've met regular people with that name that don't have that image.

yes, i would only ever use it on a guy. Surprisingly i didn't get the name from the state but from a book i very much enjoyed as a kid. Texas is nice but i think i prefer Dallas as it has much more meaning for me.

Sorry, but I don't like it. The soap opera "Dallas" went on for yeeears here in Sweden, so all I can think of is J.R. and Sue Ellen!

The only Dallas I knew was a guy.So I think of it as a boy name.I used to think it was trendy and lame, but now I like it, if only for that guy. He was very nice.

I don't know...obviously there is going to be a really strong association with the city in Texas. That makes it sound kind of corny to me, although I do like the sound of it. I kind of have a thing for names that end in 's'. I was waiting to get a blood test one day when I heard a mother calling her daughter Dallas, and I have to admit...I thought it was pretty cool. The girl was about three years old I'd imagine. Do you like it for a boy or a girl? Both? Some mn suggestions...Dallas Raine- I like the combo even though it sounds like a stage name/celebrity baby name

I think i could only ever see it on a boy. I don't picture the Texas thing, but thats because i'm don;t really know much about the geography of america (i'm british). I found it in a book i used to love when i was younger and recently re-read and immeadiately fell in love with it again. as for the combos, i LOVE Dallas Cade. But this might be because another character in the book had the surname Cade, so I am inclined to that one. However Dallas James is nice. Maybe you have read the book, it's called the outsiders by S.E Hinton.

In North America, "The Outsiders" is a pretty standard En. class book in some schools.

I like the sound of Dallas quite a bit, but I've always had a hard time warming up to it as a name. I think it's because I was unhappy when I was living in Dallas. I known two Dallases, one male and one female. After seeing it on both sexes, I prefer it for girls, but I'll suggest middle names for both.Dallas Patrick
Dallas Nathaniel
Dallas JonathanDallas Charlotte
Dallas Miranda
Dallas Gillian/Jillian

Same here. I know a boy and a girl named Dallas, but it doesn't seem like a great name to me.

I actually like it a lot, either gender.I know this girl fn/mn Alana Dallas. She's also badass so ever since then I've thought it was super badass.

I honestly don't like it too much. Do you like it for a girl or a boy? I think it sounds like a boy name but on the show Suburgatory there is a lady named Dallas.

I much prefer it on a boy. i found it in a old book i used to love when i was younger and i was re-reading it and the character called Dallas was a guy, so i can only really see it on a guy

I actually really like the name Dallas. It reminds me of Dallas from The Outsiders. I always thought he was an attractive literary character.

Yeah, thats where i found it. i was re-reading the book the other day (it's one of my favourites) and it suddenly dawned on me that i really liked the name Dallas (and the character, he's an interesting one). Johnny will always be my favourite character though.

I love Dallas as a name. But I lived just outside of the city of Dallas TX for three years and I hate the city. So that's why I wouldn't use the name! I love the sound of it, though, just for someone else's child.

I live South of Dallas now and love the area (not the heat though) but I wouldn't use it because of our proximity to it. I kind of like it. It feels very masculine, strong and trendy to me.
