Josephine & Agnes
Names of people I encountered today. Josephine was in her 80's, and little Agnes looked to be about 3 or 4. What do you think? I quite like Josephine; not a huge fan of Agnes, but it was refreshing to see it on a girl whose contemporaries tend to be Isabella or Bella or Ella or Ava and whatnot.

I like Josephine. I like Josie or Jo as a nickname and I think it would be really cute for a younger girl. My SOs grandma is called Josephine and she's in her 70s.Agnes is quite unattractive - it's the hard G - but you're right it's nice for a change.

I recently met a four year old Agnes and although I dislike it, I agree that it was really nice to see.
I think Josephine deserves to be popular again, I appreciate it and think it would be a great name to see on a little girl. :)

I love both names, especially Agnes. I hope the popularity of the latter doesn't skyrocket in the near future!

I'm not a fan of either but I was going to say that Josephine & Agnes is a good sibset. Very similar styles.

Joesphine is lovely. I really like the nickname Josie. My best friends mother was named this. Just lovely.I really like Agnes. Not sure if I'd use it but I would consider it especially if my husband liked it. It feels refreshing and sweet but good for an adult or child. But I don't like the nickname Aggie.

Happy to hear about a little Agnes! I like any name that reminds me of a medieval painting; Agnes is one of them.

I like them both, but I like Agnes more. The reason is because BtN wore me out on Josephine. Back when I first became a member, it was THE name- it popped up in nearly every combo, and people were in love with it. Its popularity has faded somewhat, but I can't love it the way I used to. I still like it a lot, but the shine has worn off.Agnes is lovely, though. It's underused, and I get a soft image from it. Soft, soothing, and all-knowing, like a starry night.
