WDYTO Aiden Emmett?
Replies
That combo causes me to pronounce Aiden in a slightly different way than I normally would. Normally I would pronounce it AY-din. But next to Emmett I say it more like AID-in. I feel like I'm not describing this very well but hopefully you understand what I mean. If I'm the only one who does this than I guess it doesn't matter lol, but I think it's an attempt on my part to make the names flow better. If I don't change the pronunciation of Aiden, then it sounds to me a bit like Ada Nemmet.
Anyway, it's an okay combo. I don't really care one way or the other with either name, although of course Aiden/Aidan is super popular right now so that turns me off. I don't like the flow of Emmett Aidan at all...sounds all jumbled to me like Emmadaydyn. Neither name comes across clearly.
It probably seems like I'm being really picky about flow (which I am) but I have experience with this. My first and last name sound a bit jumbled and I always have to repeat my name two or three times for people whenever they have to write it down.

I understand what you mean about the different pronunciations of Aidan, I was pronouncing it differently too but didn't realize it. Flow is pretty important to me too so I probably wouldn't use this combo, I just love the names and had never thought of using them together before. Thanks for your comment, it was ver helpful! :)
Aidan Emmett is cute. I'm just sick of the rhymes-with-Aidan trend. I'm not bothered by the popularity of any one individual name, but taken as a rhyming group, they're overwhelming. Aidan, not Aiden, is the best of the bunch by far, but I still wouldn't use it.
I prefer Aidan Emmett over Emmett Aidan, though. Emmett Aidan sounds a lot like "Emma Taidan" to me.
