WDYTO Uriah/Urijah?
I stumbled across this names and I kind of liked them. WDYTO Uriah and Urijah? Also are they too biblical? Would they be very usable for a non-religious person?

Ick. Sounds like urine.

I really like this name. Of course it's usable for a non-religious person, though I do not like people that use religious names without knowing the meaning of it.

I know a young Uriah - he's a cute, rambunctious little boy with brown eyes and curly brown hair. His parents are Christian missionaries and I expect they chose the name since it was Biblical (and unusual). I never particularly liked the name - I hear the "urinary" association too. Maybe using the nn Uri (although the pronunciation is slightly different?) would help.

I went to school with a Uriah. To my knowledge, he was never seriously teased about his name.I've always liked it.

:(I think mostly of Uriah Heep, the creepy Dickens character. After that, it reminds me of urinary. :/ I'm not a fan. If you like biblical names, I'd go with Elijah, Benaiah, Elias, Josiah, Abiah/Abijah (Abe for short?), Isaiah, Jeriah, or even Uriel is better. As for your other question, while certain biblical names are a bit "biblical"-sounding, more and more non-religious people are using them, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Maybe stay away from Emmanuel or something like that though haha.

Biblical names seem trendy-ish right now, my issue with Uriah/Urijah is that "ur" sounds really unattractive to me.

I started reading the Divergent Trilogy this week, which opened my eyes for Uriah. I quite like it. I didn't think it was as popular as it is though, and I think it will gain more popularity. Not too biblical.
I don't like Urijah though, it looks weird.

I think it's unattractive and reminds me of urethra. Idk why!

I think of Uriah the Hittite who was murdered by King David over Uriah's wife Bathsheba. I think anyone who knows anything about the Bible will think of this infamous story. People who don't know anything about the Bible will think of urea or urethra. I can see a kid named Uriah being teased and called urethra.

I've read the Bible, and I'm religious, and I still just think of urea.

Its always reminded me of urea which makes me think of pee. although Urijah looks better, I think people will pronounce it like Elijah.

Uriah Faber is an infamous UFC fighter. Love his name! He's a california kid, long blond curls handsome guy. The name really adds something to his "look". It's also very memorable.
