Hersilora and more
I had occasion to go to a local cemetery this week (in downstate Michigan, US) and was pleased to find some unusual names. Some I'd heard before I hadn't. The best of the bunch:Hersilora
Tryphena
Mima
Percena
Fidelia
Mariamne
Zerah
Dwella
OrphaPhiletus
Otis
Tisdale
Rufus (I don't care for it personally, but I was surprised to see so many that were not obviously related)
Elam
Gershom
Erastus
EliakimWhat do you think? Hersilora was my favorite by a mile. So odd and unusual.

Fidelia and Rufus are cute names (although Rufus is a dog or a cat to me).
The rest are too strange for my taste. Hersilora, Tryphenia and Philetus sound like germs.

GermsOh no, you're right; those names do sound like germs, or illnesses of some kind. Gross. I like Fidelia also. It's one of the more normal among them, I think it's quite pretty.

The only ones I like a Elam and Eliakim. I think the rest would be awful on real people, though they would work well in a fantasy story or game .
