Vibes
In honour of me finally deciding on my top name per gender, having been tripping up on my girl's name for quite a while, what do you think of them? More specifically, what kind of vibes / impressions do you get from them? Oh, and how do you think they work as brother and sister? Romilly Georgiana Maude & August Barnaby Leo.Much obliged! :)

You just made me happy =) I love Romilly and August!! The mns are names I'd choose (except Leo which I totally would) but they flow well.

Well good, and thank you :)

I like them. I think they have sort of a modern, middle-class London hipster vibe (but in a good way). They go very well together.

At least it's in a good way, then! Thank you :)

I love August Barnaby Leo. It's such a handsome name.
That being said, I dislike your girl combo. I do like Maude, but not Georgiana or Romilly.
vote up1
Ah, well, thank you! :)

I can see them as siblings. That said, I think the boy's combo is handsome and awesome. The girl's combo doesn't really do anything for me. I guess it is because I don't really like Romilly. And while I used to like Georgiana, I now find it "over the top" and "trying too hard". I saw in one of your responses that you won't change Romilly. So in that case, I would look for something to change Georgiana with.

Romilly has a pleasant 1920s vibe, dancing the Charleston in a dress with beads and fringes, but August seems rther more militaristic. Perhaps Leo might work as a fn? Although I prefer Barnaby, it would seem comic with sister Romilly.

Oh, your description of Romilly's vibes makes me incredibly happy. And it's funny that you should say August seems militaristic as I, perhaps, began falling in love with it after seeing it in war cemetery on the continent. It's a positive but melancholy association for me. Leo was a favourite as a first name for a while, but it's just too popular here.

I really like the names, and I can definitely see them as siblings. I don't like each individual name, but I think the names together make great combinations. Romilly and Leo are the more trendy feeling names, but still don't feel like they are generation-specific trendy. I also think Romilly is a beautiful, but I'm a sucker for feminine sounding names. Leo is short, but strong and handsome at the same time, imo. The Georgiana and August parts match well. Georgiana is another gorgeous, feminine name, while August gives me the feeling that it would be from the same era as Georgiana. I'm not overly fond of August, but the name does have wonderful nickname potential. Finally, Maude and Barnaby have the old, dusty feel to me, like opening up an old book in a library. Maude isn't the feminine type names I like, and Barnaby just feels too old for me. However, I feel that they complete the names. Maude strengthens the previous "frilly" names. Barnaby adds some depth and dimension to August and Leo. Sorry if I was more detailed than you cared for. The names were just very intriguing.

Squee! Don't worry about being too detailed - your answer is perfect :)

Romilly Georgiana Maude - It's quite appealing. I don't love Romilly when I think about it, but it does have a really pretty sound. It's a definite guilty pleasure for me, though, because it's a surname and pretty trendy. I love Georgiana. I love this name more and more. It's so old world and elegant. Maude is cool. I really like it. Together this name seems very grand. August Barnaby Leo - Meh, it's ok. For some reason it seems a little "I'm trying too hard." Maybe it's the Leo. August is fine. Barnaby... it's like Maude but not as cool. It's kind of flatly ugly but in an attractive way. Leo is incomplete and seems like a nn to me. I'm being critical. Really, they're super nice names.

Thank you! :) Don't worry about being critical, I don't at all mind.

Drop Romilly.Georgina Maude & August Barnaby are amazing together (I think Leo is ok, but August Barnaby is amazing by itself). To me Romilly is too modern sounding and trendyish. I feel like it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Nope. Romilly's been around for four years and I'd never give her up without a damn good fight.

I'm not keen on Romilly, it seems a bit flimsy and kind of 'private school girl' sounding (not a bad thing of course, but not really my style). It also reminds me of Rommel, i.e. the German WW2 General. Georgiana is ok but I prefer Georgina. Maude is nms. I've recently started to like August - I think it's quite handsome. Barnaby isn't bad but I prefer Barnabas. Leo is one of my favourite boys names :)Overall I think the combos flow well, but they don't seem like brother and sister to me. August and Georgiana fit better IMO.

I can definitely see the 'private school girl' thing with Romilly, but I don't know that I would have ever thought of Rommel, even being immensely interested in WWII. Hm. Thank you! :)

Romilly Georgiana Maude:Romilly.
It's a fun name. It sounds like a young girl running. It's Milly with extra colour and spunk.Georgiana has the same pretty, free feeling as Romilly, though it's way more frilly. I don't like Georgiana, but I think they pair well together. Following these, Maude sounds just like a greenish-brown stain. Maude is something nasty on the bottom of Romilly Georgiana's shoe, something she stepped in by mistake and hasn't managed to get rid of.

August Barnaby Leo:Despite not usually liking names with the "gus" sound in them, I think August is very cool. It's is cheerful without being sickening and steady without being stoic. It's a lovely balanced name, and I'm all for it.Leo is my all-time favourite boy's name, and the name of my son :DHowever, Barnaby sounds like a bumbling old fool, and his clumsiness is terribly conspicuous when he's shoved between August and Leo. I don't get why you'd placed him there. I think Romilly and August would work very well as a sib-set.

Haha, oh, poor Maude! She is a family name, though, and I think much more interesting than May, which I might have chosen otherwise. I find Barnaby's clumsiness rather endearing, too :P Thank you! :)

Ah, I'm sorry. For what it's worth, I'd love Romilly Gorgiana Maeve.
Maeve isn't May, which you're right is kind of boring, and it's so much prettier than Maude...Clumsy Barnaby might be endearing, but I still don't think he looks his best places between two names that are so seriously cool. It just shows him up, somehow.
I'd like it better if it was August Leo Barnaby. But they're your names and the first ones are all most people would hear anyway, and August and Romilly are great together :)Edit: I've just realised that people born in August have the star-sign Leo. Lol.

I don't care for "Romily" but I don't think it's immensely terribly. prefer others over it. Romilly just never really "clicked" with me.
I like Georgiana though do prefer "Georgina" Georgiana is still very lovely
Maude: a name I've never been crazy for but don't hate it...its one of those "meh" type of names
Romilly Georgiana Maud has a good flow though.August Barnaby Leo: I only like Leo. August is "OK" I'm not really a huge fan of month names besides April, may\mae and June which are more acceptable.
Barnaby I utterly hate. Sorry. I have nothing nice to say about it and I'll just keep it at that. I never been a fan of it. Barnabus including & any name like it.
One of the reasons is that they remind me WAY too much of "Barney" the big purple dinosaur (kids show) lol

I guess we just have entirely different tastes. Thanks, though! :)

Well, I'm going to bore Queenv and say they're NMS, but I kind of like Romilly and Barnaby. Leo is in my top ten; I think it's regal and handsome. Overall, they're good names.

Haha, indeed! Thank you :)

They're very old fashioned. Romilly Georgiana Maude feels very English to me, and August Barnaby Leo makes me think of Catholic saints. I love love Romilly-it's pretty, and has that "mily" sound that's so pretty in Emily, but the R makes it edgier and less "sweet". It's a great name. I like Georgiana because of Pride and Prejudice (really the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, because the original Georgiana Darcy wasn't much of a character imo), but I'm not a fan of Maude. I like it better sans e, as Maud, but I still don't like it much. August is okay, Barnaby just feels super dated, and Leo is cute.

Pride and Prejudice is what swayed me on Georgiana, too, I think. The fact you find them old-fashioned is fabulous to me! Thank you :)
