Kellan and Isabelle
My sister has decided to name her daughter Isabelle. Isabelle will be joining big brother Kellan. Is it me or are these names slightly mismatched?

Yep, they are mismatched. Isabelle is beautiful, though. BTW, Anna has a good friend (female) named Kellen. Can't say I love the spelling or that it's used for a female.

Not mismatched but hip together.

I actually like Kellan better than Isabelle. :P But I have a thing for K names.

Yeah, they seem a bit mismatched but not terribly so. I mean, if it was Kellan and Isabella no one would bat an eye. I think Isabelle is a nice choice.

I actually don't find them very mismatched at all. They both seem like hip-in-this-decade kind of names, although I do recognize that Isabelle is a lot more popular than Kellan. The 'ell' part of both of them pulls them together visually. As for the names. I like Kellan. I hate Isabelle. Also I would never use them together because of the rhyming syllables bell and kell. It makes my brain want to give them a celebrity mash-up name: Isabellan or Isakellan or something.

Yes, they are mismatched. But I think that's okay. I think sib names tend to match only because people tend to like the same sort of names. I don't think it has to be a rule that they match.

Isabelle is comically French next to Kellan. But Isabel would work just fine.

I don't think they are mismatched. The parents probably like the double Ls.

Nah, not really mismatched because they're both so fashionable.
Seems like people either start out naming conservatively and gradually get more creative, or else they go the other way. So you get siblings that don't seem like they were chosen to match. I know a lot of sibsets that are less style-matched than Isabelle and Kellan.I like Kellan pretty well, though it's not a favorite.
I wish Isabelle were Isabel.

Ditto with Isabel. I like Kellan as well. It suits him.

Hm...maybe a little mismatched, sure. Kellan is trendier than Isabelle, but I like it; it's a warm, friendly name. Isabelle is pretty, but it doesn't do much for me. Do you know if she would call her by a nickname?

Most likely - Belle or Izzy. I suspect Izzy.
