Anakin
Thinking of this as a second middle name.
Possibly in Casper Christopher Anakin.I think it's a really lovely name, but the association with the movies does bother me, since George Lucas created the name...My thoughts are that its buried in the name, so teasing won't be rife.
But then I have Casper as well, which is a movie name. I was thinking of spelling it Caspar (i prefer this spelling but thought it best to keep it as the original spelling)
Also thinking that the next generation of kids will not know who Anakin Skywalker is so much.Anyway, was not intending for this to be so long, and I know this won't be most people's style, but wdyt?

I love the name Anakin. It probably helps that I also love the movies but I really do just love this name. Is it usable? As a mn, YES!

a) i like Anakin (more than Casper)
b) if you don't like the association with the movie, you might not want to use it
c) use Caspar instead
d) What about Anakin Christopher Caspar or Christopher Anakin Caspar? I think they flow better than having Caspar first.

I actually Casper & Anakin (only as a MN) I dislike Christopher.I have no problem with Casper Anakin as a combo, I think it's really nice. I like the sound of Anakin, however I would never use it as a FN because i've taught two boys name Anakin and they get alot of grief over it!

I like that darned name. I wish it were a classic name. Like, it's a medieval nickname for Anatolius or something. I don't even care that it's Star Wars. That's fine. Lots of invented names from popular culture become real names. It's a name now.The problem I have with it, is that if you don't know Anakin Skywalker, it does sound too cute, because of the -kin part. Lambkin. Pumpkin. Anakin.Casper's not just a movie name. I prefer the spelling Caspar, too. It looks less movieish. I approve of the combo you have made. It's awesome.

I really like it.

I love the name Anakin. I also love Star Wars so I might be a bit bias. The combo is also awesome, it flows well in my mind. :)

I think it's too much as a FN, but I don't see any problems with using it as a middle name. Go for it! And as for spellings, I far prefer Casper to Caspar (which I pronounce differently). Have you considered Kasper ?

It's not my style at all. But I will say, there's a boy named Anakin in my daughter's school. The kids know who the character Anakin Skywalker is and think this boy is awesome for sharing his name. No teasing involved at all regarding his name.
