Only if her first name is Daphne and she lives in Seattle with Frasier.

I agree with everyone that it really doesn't sound good as a name. Could pass as a MN. Remember the song "Mary Mooooooooon, she's a vegetarian"? Mary Moon is kind of neat.

I used to know someone with this as a middle name, but sadly her first name was Taylor and Taylor Moon didn't fly so well when Sailor Moon got popular. It may work as a middle name, but I don't think it would work as a first name at all.

I think it sounds cool, but I could never see it on a child at all.

Sure, why not?Star and Sunny are acceptable so why not Moon?I've toyed with it as a creative NN for Monroe. If "bare butts" is the most negative association, well, that's sort of nothing right? I mean people still go by BJ, Dick, and Woody, and I find those much more "snicker worthy," especially since at least Moon has other, more immediate associations that the former don't. And I mean, Luna leads to lunatic but people apparently have no problem accepting that as a name at face value.

Maybe as a middle name, but Luna is much cuter.

SometimesMoon is the (translated) name of Zhang Ziyi's character in the 2002 movie "Hero", which was a fantastical Chinese treat for the eyes. It totally worked there. But then, the other characters names are called things like Flying Snow and Long Sky. So.

No. Never.

Everything Rox just said. Even as a surname, it's not one I'd fancy.

No, not really. Moon-faces, mooning people, Moon Pies, menstruation, Moon Unit, moonshine. I just really would not want to be called Moon.

My favourite name at age eight... A shameful period of name-loving, for me, my other favourites at that time (all for girls) were Phoenix, Silver, Apple and River. My tastes have certainly become more mainstream since then! However, I think it's be lovely as a surname. I know a girl named Jessie Ffion Hazell, with Hazell being the surname, and I definitely envy her very much!

I don't think so, and I really hope not. OK, it's a ln, so not quite as space-cadetty as, e.g., Luna, but with Diana, Phoebe and Selene to choose from, why go downmarket?

NoJust remember that it's also when people pull down their trousers/pants to expose their butt!

I think it works as a middle name. I like it, to be honest, but it's definitely a GP.

It works as a middle name. It's too "space cadet" for a first name, IMO. But I could kinda get used to it if I knew someone named it.

No. If one must, use Luna, but never Moon. The "moo" makes it unattractive, I think. Too...cow-ish.I like it as a surname, though.

No, for what I think is an obvious reason. It involves bare butts.
