Re: Double-Barrelled Names
in reply to a message by lusia
Anna Sophia and Mary Grace. I'd use them as a first and middle name (no hyphens ever!!!) and use them both sometimes myself, but I wouldn't insist on anyone else using them. That's fighting a losing battle in my experience.ETA: I also like Marie Claire, but the magazine has pretty much ruined that one.

Yes, I've considered Marie Claire too. I prefer it to Mary Claire, but the whole magazine thing sort of ruins it.

I love Marie Claire too :( sad about the magazine. I also like that it's mentioned in the song by Peter Starstedt (sp?)

Mary Grace and Anna Sophia are very nice. I don't mind hyphens but there not necessary. It would be difficult to have other people remember to say both names.
What do you think of
Evelyn Grace
Clara/Claire Fae
Elisabeth Winter or to long

Those are all nice as combos (though I personally dislike Evelyn and Fae), but don't flow as double names to me.
