I like the sound as it is listed as well. I would probably have not guessed the correct pronunciation though. As for the meaning, I think it is trumped by the courtesan story and the relation to dark skin. Its no more off-putting than names like Caleb (dog), Delilah (weak) or Penelope (a duck). ______________________________________________
