Bartholomew
I've always low-key liked Bartholomew but thought a bit more about it today after meeting a nice Bart. What are your thoughts?

I love it! It has so many bizarre sounds that coalesce delightfully. I love Tolly as a nickname.

I think it's really handsome and has this secret adventurous side. But I don't like Bart at all. Just can't get past the Simpson association. I'm not a big fan of any of its nicknames, but if I had to pick one I'd go with Tolly.

Bartholomew is nice enough. I've never known anyone by that name although my dh's mother would have named a third ds Bartholomew if her dd had been a ds. That would have been interesting (definitely more interesting than James, Matthew and Lisa).

I like it with the nn Tolly.

I find it very heavy-sounding, with an unattractive rhythm. Nice Bart people are rare, but if I met one I'd hope he was actually a Bartelmy.

I really like Bartholomew (Bart, not so much). It has a nice sound, soft and not overly masculine or harsh. And I'm a sucker for a good vintage name.

I really love the sound of Bartholomew, but Bart doesn't a people to me. A certain spikey-headed brat may have something to do with that. I think Bartholomew is a bit much, but maybe with a more "accessible " nickname like Thom or Ollie it might work.

I think Bartholomew is a bit too much. Like, it would make an ok middle name but the kind that the bearer is always embarrassed of. And for a name that has 11 letters and 4 syllables, it has way too few nickname options. Like, you can go the Bart route, but there's really no other option. I knew a Bart in high school -- we were in math club together. He was originally from the Netherlands. I had a crush on him, but even cute guys can't make the name tolerable.

It once appeared on my PNL for a while but I'm not super into it anymore. I'd be kind of excited to see it regardless, though Bart might still be too tied to the Simpsons for most people's liking. Tolly is a cute potential nickname too.

It starts with Bart and ends with 'mew', neither of which are pleasant sounds imo. If I knew a nice Bart, though, I might feel differently about it.The only related name I sort of like is Bertók.

No. It sounds like a joke. For some reason it reminds me of a Johnny depp character. Maybe because of Barnabas Collins
