I prefer Edith Isabel to your other suggestions. And I once knew the sister of an Edith Linda Marie, which pretty well tells you her age, but it's still a pretty combo. As for Dottie ... no. Just no. And another no to Edie. Edith is short enough that it doesn't need a nn - Edith Linda Marie was/is always Edith, it seems.

Edith is currently my favorite girl's name. Dottie as a nickname is completely non-intuitive, though. Nay. I like Edith Margot and Edith Lenore the best of these, and Edith Ophelia the least

I love Dottie as a nickname and Im always looking for new full names to go with it and Edith is a cute name and I don't see why not to have Dottie as a nickname.

I don't really see the connection between Edith and Dotty. But I don't think it's a rule that nicknames have to play off the person's real name.I think Edith Josephina is the prettiest combo.

I can see why you'd want to get away from the ubiquitous Edie as a short, but I would say a big no to Dottie a)it's not related to Edith at all and b) it's pretty much the same as being called Ditzy. All of those combos are really pretty, though I prefer Josephine to Josephina

If I met an Edith nicknamed Dottie, I wouldn't have a real problem with it, but I would assume that it was a nickname like Skippy or Bud--one of those nicknames with a family story behind it and no connection to the given name. I like Edith Isabel. Very pretty.

Dottie, doesn't really make sense. I love Edith and the nickname Edie. Edith Margot and Edith Josephina are gorgeous.

I think it can work, although I prefer other nn options. I really like Edith! Edith Margot is my favourite of your combos. I feel like Margot gives Edith some kick. My combo's Edith Sylvia Nightingale.

I love Edith, I don't really see Dottie as a nickname for it, but if you like it then go for it :)Edith Ophelia is my favorite, I also love Edith Leonore and Edith Isabel. I love Josephina but not sure if those two names go together.

I'm not seeing Dottie as a nn for Edith at all. It's really a stretch, unless 1. Her middle name is Dorothy or something like that. 2. She is very freckled. 3. She wears polka-dots.
Edith is just so awful-sounding and looking that no middle name can fix it.
