Today in a waiting room I heard a woman talking to another lady named Crocetta.
Crocetta is a diminutive of Croce ('cross') and is a religious name given after the symbol of Jesus Christ. It was used nearly only in Sicily.
Nowadays both Croce and Crocetta are nearly extinct (the latest year that they were in a ranking for newborns was in 2005).
It is one of those names that you always hope to be gone in a ended past and it is so ridicolous me meet one seriously.

I like it. It does seem elderly and religious to me, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's a beautiful name.
