My mother's legal name is Susannah, but ever since she was little girl she's always gone by simply Susan out of preference, it is honoring either way though, but if for some reason I did want to honor her by naming her Sky because mother's favorite color is blue that's cool too! The funny thing about honoring people as you can do it pretty much anyway you want to, my god daughter is named Jasmine after her grandmother's favorite flower, if that's somehow a problem to you I suggest you get the fuck over it, that's still honoring. So maybe offer up constructive criticism instead of just judgmental petty little snids?
