Re: If I were to have kids tomorrow...

Hey, thanks for your feedback. I appreciate you taking time to read and respond. Don't most people choose names that have personal significance for them? Is it ego to name a child after your parent, or is that honoring? I figure a place name is similar to that concept. What about naming a child after your favorite author? I didn't think it was far fetched to pick a name based on personal significance, but I get Nashville is different and not for everyone. My parents said they picked my first name cause it was the only name that they could agree on, and I always thought that was kind of lame and wished my name had more personal significance and meaning. But that's just me. Fair point on the cartoon characters, and Nashville Mustard might be a little much for one band I think if I did use Matilda Mustard, I'd pick a more typical middle name based on the responses in this thread. As for initials, I wouldn't go out of my way to give a child initials that meant or spelled something, but if I already had 2/3 letters that spelled something with names that were significant to me,, I might try to go for the third. Maybe not IDK or OMG, but something like LOL or JOY or MNM that's more positive. I knew a girl named Meg who had the initials MEG and I thought that was really cool. Again, as a kid, I always wished my initials spelled something, but maybe that's just me. And fair point that maybe my kid wouldn't feel the same way and that's something to consider. I don't mean it as s joke, just something cool/positive to add to a child's name. Thanks for your thoughts!
