Naomi died of a car crash with her mother inside it too. Beau and Hunter were badly injured, but obviously came out alive.

More specifically, Mrs. Biden and the children were out Christmas shopping when they got hit on the side of the car by a huge truck. The car went flying upside down in a ditch. Beau and Hunter were hospitalized for months.
