Elizabeth or Elisabeth?
Which spelling, and why?

I prefer the spelling Elisabeth because to me it looks like it has a softer looking aesthetic for lack of a better description and also because of my German heritage.

ElisabethIt’s the standard spelling in my country which is why we went for the Elisabeth spelling with my daughter. Here the z version would come across as “look at us, we’re so fancy and international that we chose the foreign spelling”. I don’t pronounce the two versions the same way, btw.

Elizabeth, because it just looks “right” to me, looks nicer and more classic. Plus, when I pronounce the name, it sounds like it has a z in it, not an s.

ElisabethI like the glassy slipperiness of the S, it lightens the name up. Plus it's just a bit different from the usual.

ElizabethElisabeth looks hissy and lispy.

In German, Elisabeth. In English, Elizabeth. In both cases, the pronunciation is the same. I used Elizabeth as my daughter's mn, after my MIL.

Elizabeth, the more common way here

I prefer the S, I think it looks softer and prettier. The Z looks too jagged.
